Winter's a thing!

Winter Skin Care Routine | natural MADE FOR SKIN

Winter Skin is a thing…Really! Dry, itchy skin can flare up in the winter and three common causes are indoor heat, cold, biting wind and pure neglect.

Turtlenecks, pants and endless streams of blankets can sometimes have us forgetting we have skin that needs caring. Dry skin is not only dull, it can exaggerate already serious skin issues such as eczema. And those little nicks and cuts on your fingers and hands? You guessed it…dry skin.

What do I do to help fight Winter Skin?

1. . EXFOLIATE. I love this step because you can really turn it into a SPA session. Exfoliation helps prep your skin for moisturizers and keep pores clear.

We have a few great exfoliators to choose from, depending on your need. Our polishes and scrubs contain pure, natural ingredients and never include fillers, plastic beads or impurities.

FACE POLISH – in both Aloe Soothing and Mineral Brightening this blend is soft and gentle to the touch (almost silky feeling). But don’t let that fool you, it works the top layer of your skin and removes dead, dull skin cells that can clog your pores.

BODY POLISH – Finely milled mineral rich salt blend infused with pure organic essential oils. Our Body Polish is a tad more of a work horse but gentle to your skin. As you massage the blend over your skin, it gently exfoliates your skin and slowly dissolves under warm water leaving your skin smooth and soft. And as an added bonus you can use it 2 ways! 1. Apply to damp skin and massage in circular motion under warm running water; or, 2. Apply to dry skin for a dry brush experience then rinse under warm water.

2. . TONE. A super easy step that quick too! Toners help to remove excess dirt, traces of oil and makeup, correct and balance the pH of your skin, and can helps control breakouts.

ALOE TONER a gentle, alcohol-free toner, and a little goes a long way. Gentle enough for all skin types.

TEA TREE TONER this alcohol-free toner contains a special blend of Tea Tree Oil, Bergamot Oil and Lavender. Alcohol can dry your skin, so we use only gentle ingredients to help keep skin clear.

3. MOISTURIZE. MOISTURIZE. MOISTURIZE. Lotions, Butters and Balms….oh my! Light or Heavy Duty, Face or Body – we have a range of moisturizers that do the deed.

Each moisturizer is a blend of skin soothing oils to heal, rich moisturizing butters to hydrate and some contain pure beeswax to protect. And of course, topped off with pure essential oils.

The main reason I dove headfirst into lotions and potions was that my youngest son suffered from winter eczema sending him into an itching frenzy when it broke out on his arms and back. Hemp Seed Oil seemed to hold the promise of soft, moisturized skin with the healing properties of Omega 3 and 6. And there were many reports that the vitamins and fatty acids contained in Hemp Seed Oil could also keep skin healthy, prevent break outs and even nourish the skin and protect it from inflammation, oxidation, and other causes of aging. From there our Hemp Body Wash and Hemp Body Lotion was born.

Since then our skin care line has grown to include facial care, beard and shaving care, deodorant (a top seller) and a full line of body moisturizing products. With the varied products in our collection there is always one common thread…..they all have to solve a problem or help with a skin care issue.

Every product created is used by our family and friends because we believe in them.
